Midrand
Midrand includes suburbs such as Randjespark, Halfway House, Samrand, Vorna Valley, Clayville, Grand Central and Kosmosdal, and is situated between Pretoria and Johannesburg. Midrand has been a hotspot and thriving business node for both Commercial and Industrial development over the last 10 years, hence it is relatively modern and as a result of traffic congestion in the likes of Sandton etc has seen many businesses relocate there due to its proximity to good highway links and its location in the economic centre of Gauteng Province. Midrand has effectively joined Johannesburg and Pretoria and is an accurate reflection of the current economic expansion of Gauteng. The node caters for all industries, including noxious zoned industries, and companies involved in the likes of logistics, storage, motor industry, cleaning, IT, insurance, construction and the food industry, as well as manufacturing have made Midrand their home. Some of the main DC’s are situated within the Midrand and surrounds area. Some of the more well-known developments include Gallagher Conference Centre, Lords View, Waterfall City, Midrand Business Park, Sterling Industrial Park, Corporate Park North and South, Twenty-One Industrial, Old Mint, Samrand Circle, The Point and N1 Business Park. Midrand offers a range of Premium to C Grade Commercial and Industrial buildings. Mediclinic Midstream and Life Waterfall offer top class medical care within the area as well as the likes of Waterfall City, Blue Valley Golf Estate and Midstream offer safe park-like residential opportunities. The N1 runs through Midrand as the main arterial route and the R21 borders the northern side of Midrand, along with the Old Johannesburg Road offering alternative access points. The transportation network is extensive from buses to minibus taxis and the Gautrain, with plans for an additional two stations servicing the Midrand area in the near future. OR Tambo International Airport, and Lanseria are both approximately 30 minutes travel time. Midrand offers various shopping malls on its outskirts which including Mall of Africa, Africa’s largest single phase shopping mall, Blue Valley Shopping Centre, Grey Owl, newly developed Clayville Shopping Centre and Boulders Shopping Centre as well as additional dedicated retail centres planned for development in the near future
